Chalsea Dresser Warning: No Recall or Refund—What Owners Should Do

Chalsea dresser warning for models WF-CT03WH01 and WF-CT03BG01 with no recall refund remedy

If you bought a Chalsea four-drawer dresser from Wayfair, check the model number before continuing to use it.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, or CPSC, issued a safety warning on October 15, 2026, involving about 235 Chalsea dressers. The agency says the dressers can tip over when they are not anchored to a wall, creating an entrapment hazard that could seriously injure or kill a child.

There is one important difference between this case and a normal product recall: there is currently no CPSC-approved recall or refund remedy for these dressers.

CPSC says Henan Senka Trading Co. Ltd. has not agreed to an acceptable recall. That means consumers should not assume they can return the dresser for a refund simply because a federal safety warning has been issued.

Which Chalsea dressers are affected?

The warning applies to Chalsea four-drawer dressers with the following model numbers:

WF-CT03WH01 — white dresser
WF-CT03BG01 — blue dresser

The dressers are made of metal, have four drawers with gold-colored handles, and measure approximately 31.5 inches wide, 39.25 inches high and 15.75 inches deep.

They were sold online through Wayfair.com from August 2024 through April 2026 for about $300.

If your dresser looks similar but has a different model number, do not assume it is covered by this particular warning based on appearance alone.

Why did CPSC issue the Chalsea dresser warning?

CPSC says these dressers violate the mandatory safety standard for clothing storage units required under the federal STURDY Act.

If the dresser is not anchored to the wall, CPSC says it can be unstable and create tip-over and entrapment hazards. Young children are particularly vulnerable because they can be trapped underneath a dresser if it falls forward.

The federal clothing-storage-unit standard was developed specifically to reduce injuries and deaths associated with furniture tip-overs. A wall anchor can reduce the immediate tip-over risk, but the CPSC warning still states that the Chalsea dressers themselves do not meet the applicable mandatory standard.

What should you do if you own one?

CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Chalsea dresser immediately.

The agency gives consumers two practical options: dispose of the dresser according to local disposal requirements, or securely anchor it to the wall.

CPSC also specifically says consumers should not sell or give away the dresser. In other words, moving the product to another household is not an appropriate way to deal with the safety warning.

If you have young children in the home, keep them away from the dresser while you decide how to handle it.

Why isn’t there a refund?

This is where a CPSC product safety warning can differ from a formal recall.

With many recalls, a manufacturer or seller works with CPSC and provides a specific remedy such as a refund, repair or replacement. In this case, however, CPSC states that Henan Senka Trading Co. Ltd. has not agreed to an acceptable recall.

As of the October 15 warning, the CPSC notice does not list a refund, replacement or repair program for consumers.

That does not necessarily mean a remedy could never become available. CPSC warnings can be updated if a company later agrees to a recall or another corrective action. For that reason, owners may want to check the official CPSC product-safety page periodically before discarding purchase records.

Should you contact Wayfair about a refund?

The CPSC notice identifies Wayfair.com as the online marketplace where the dressers were sold, but it does not announce a Wayfair refund program for this warning.

You may still choose to contact the retailer and ask whether any return or customer-service option is available for your purchase. However, retailer return policies and individual purchase circumstances can vary, so a refund should not be assumed unless the retailer confirms one.

Keep your order confirmation, receipt, product photos and model information in case a formal recall or other remedy is announced later.

No injuries have been reported, but the warning still matters

CPSC reports no incidents or injuries associated with these dressers as of the warning date.

That does not mean consumers should ignore the warning. Product-safety actions are often intended to prevent an injury before one occurs, particularly when children could be affected.

The most useful response is not to panic, but to identify the product correctly and take the recommended safety steps.

The SavingQueen takeaway

If you purchased a Chalsea four-drawer dresser from Wayfair, check whether the model is WF-CT03WH01 or WF-CT03BG01.

If it matches, CPSC says to stop using the dresser and either dispose of it according to local requirements or securely anchor it to the wall. Do not sell it or give it away.

Most importantly, this is not currently a normal refund recall. The manufacturer has not agreed to an acceptable recall, and CPSC does not list a refund or replacement remedy at this time.

Keep your purchase records and monitor the official CPSC warning in case the status changes later.
